OCTOBER 2026 UPDATE

Writing and posting this early before the midterm election results. If you don’t hear from me next month, it's because too many people voted wrong, there’s blatant voter fraud and no one hasn’t done anything about it, and either way I’m depressed and plotting how to evacuate my family into Canada.

For now lets just cover what I got done this month: Lots of work on Project Marth.

My original plan was to do another beta run that I would also use for footage for my ad campaign next year. But this would be the build that integrated branching paths, which means I needed to complete maps for modes & difficulty levels I hadn’t finalized yet. Which also meant designing enemy placement and bot behaviors as well. That also meant making new pages, which required pictures of said maps, which required icons, and at this point it feels like I’m building the final game.

I’m at the stage where I’m assembling all these assets together into pages, so I’m gonna spend my evenings doing that for November, and hopefully have a playable build ready in time to start filming and editing in December, and have my campaign ready by mid January.

This meant I had to halt on my work on Mighty Machine, despite having all the pages of the next chapter done & scanned and the next chapter’s pages are drafted.

I’ve also been getting distracted due to my excitement over Star Wars Galactic Racer, and how it got me to make abuncha drawings for another project that is nowhere near close to formally starting.

I’m getting nervous honestly. I have created a very tight plan for next year and I know once it starts, I can’t let it get derailed. It’s gonna be constant work and I hope I’m able to keep myself focused and my work ethic consistent that entire time. I hope giving up on modern games is going to help.

I decided that after purchasing Star Wars Zero Company, Galactic Racer and Ace Combat 8, those would be the last new videogames I’d be purchasing for 2 years. The videogame industry is transforming into something I cannot condone anymore. The mainstream games are prioritizing profits over quality and their workers health, the indie scene is infested with slop and people stealing each other's work through a combo of decomping & vibe-coding, and Nintendo is well on its way to becoming just like all the other greed infested companies. I don’t see them turning around once all their old leadership is gone, which will be in the very near future given how old all of them are.

So i’m gonna have a lot more time and money on my hands that I’m gonna put to use, aided by my new work schedule I’ve assembled for myself is going to help: I spend my daytime doing the creatively intensive stuff, whether that’s writing, sketching or filming- anything where I have to make something from scratch. Then I spend my evenings inking, editing, assembling or polishing. Anything that’s iterating on something already made so I don’t have to spend as much creative juices at a time where I’m drained from the rest of my day.

So hopefully all of this will come together to boost my productivity. Expect an announcement sometime after the midterms on what Project Marth actually is!
